About the lights
What are Sinister Style wall sconces and lamps?

Our lights are cordless, renter-friendly wall sconces and lamps designed to give you the look of built-in lighting without any wiring, drilling, or electrician. They mount directly to your wall or surface and use a rechargeable LED light.

Are they renter friendly? Will they damage my walls?

Yes – our lights are designed with renters in mind. They mount using strong adhesive strips so you don’t need to drill or make permanent holes.

When it’s time to move or restyle your space, you can carefully remove the adhesive following the instructions provided. On most painted and smooth surfaces, this means no major damage.

Tip: Always follow the install and removal instructions and test on a small area if you’re unsure.

Can I use these as my main room light?

Our lights are designed as accent and mood lighting – perfect for beside the bed, above artwork, hallways, reading corners, or cosy living areas.

They’ll comfortably light up a small zone, but we recommend keeping your existing ceiling light or floor lamp for bright, full-room lighting.

Do the lights get hot?

No. Our lights use LED technology which runs much cooler than traditional bulbs. They may feel slightly warm after long use, but not hot like old-fashioned incandescent bulbs.

Installation
Do I need tools or an electrician to install them?

No tools or electrician needed. Each light comes with what you need to install:

  • Peel-and-stick adhesive backing or strips
  • Simple step-by-step instructions

Just clean the wall, apply the adhesive, press firmly, and mount the light. That’s it.

What surfaces do they work on?

Our lights work best on:

  • Painted walls
  • Sealed or smooth plaster
  • Timber and most flat furniture surfaces
  • Some tiles and glass (smooth and clean)

We don’t recommend installing directly onto rough brick, raw concrete, heavily textured walls, or dusty surfaces as the adhesive may not bond properly.

Can I remove and re-install the light?

Yes, you can remove the light and re-mount it in a new spot. However, adhesive strips are generally single-use. If you’d like to move your light, we recommend using fresh adhesive strips for the best hold.

Power & charging
How are the lights powered?

Our lights use a cordless, rechargeable LED light source that charges via USB. You simply plug the light into a USB power source using the included cable (or your own compatible cable).

This means:

  • No hard-wiring
  • No disposable batteries
  • No need for a power point directly under the light
How long does the battery last?

Battery life will depend on the brightness level and how long you use the light each day. As a rough guide, most customers get several evenings of normal use from a full charge.

If you like the light at full brightness or use it for longer sessions, you may need to charge more often.

Can I leave the light plugged in?

If your light includes a plug-in option, you can leave it connected to power for continuous use. Always use a quality USB power source and follow the safety advice supplied with the product.

Shipping & delivery
How long does shipping take within Australia?

Most Australian orders arrive in around 7–10 business days from dispatch, depending on your location and the carrier.

Regional and remote areas may take a little longer. You’ll receive tracking details by email as soon as your order has shipped.

Do you ship internationally?

We’re based in Australia and do ship to selected countries. Shipping times and costs will vary depending on your region and carrier.

At checkout you’ll see available options for your address. If you don’t see your country listed, feel free to contact us and we’ll let you know what’s possible.

Returns & warranty
What is your return policy?

Our returns policy follows Australian Consumer Law. We don’t offer change-of-mind refunds, so please choose carefully when placing your order.

If your item arrives faulty, damaged in transit, not as described, or incorrect, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

To start a claim, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the item and packaging.

Do the lights come with a warranty?

Yes. Our lights come with a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal household use.

This doesn’t cover damage from incorrect installation, misuse, modifications, or normal wear and tear, but if something isn’t right, please reach out – we genuinely want you to be happy with your purchase.
